Upcoming Events

Saturday 27th April, 2019 – CHILDREN’S STORYTELLING FOR TELL-A-STORY DAY

As part of Tell-a-Story Day organised by the Northern Ireland Festival of Writing, I will be at the Belfast Raise in Commercial Court, Donegall Street, Belfast from 12 – 1pm, telling wondertales and having fun with the fairy folk. The storytelling is aimed at primary school children & parents and all are welcome.

Sunday 5th May, 2019 – SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT THE STORYTELLER’S HOUSE

A regular series of storytelling sessions on the first Sunday of every month from 4-6 pm at the Storyteller’s house in Glenarm. If you fancy sitting by a fire enjoying a cup of tea and listening to a few yarns or even telling one yourself or a poem or a song then come along. Just bring yourself or come with a friend. As this Sunday falls just after the old Celtic fire festival of Bealtaine which celebrated Spring and the fertility of life we will have a few stories along that theme. If you have any story, song or poem about Spring you would like to contribute, do bring it along or just come to listen and enjoy. We might even get a story or two outside, weather permitting. Drop me an email if you need more information, but you can also just drop in. This is a free event but donations are welcome to cover costs and help build up a fund to organise more storytelling events in and around Glenarm for adults and children.

Thursday 13th June, 2019 – LARNE MUSEUM & ARTS CENTRE – “A RIVER IN TIME”

The Boyne: From the Beginning to the Battle and Beyond

On Thursday 13th of June at 7:30pm I will be performing a piece called A River in Time at Larne Museum & Arts Centre. This storytelling performance blends mythology, history and personal anecdote. It will take you on a journey through the Boyne valley from the river’s source in the mists of time, past Tara of the Kings and the deep pool where the Salmon of Knowledge was caught, to Newgrange, the home of the old gods of the Tuatha de Danann. The river’s journey will wind through the battlefield of 1690 before continuing on to the sea.
